West Vancouver Bridge Festival - land connected community Art

This beautiful mural emerged over 2 days at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver as a way to honour the land and the animals that call it home, past and present. We called each animal by their Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) name to honour the indigenous people, language, and culture of the land. This piece was gifted back to the District of West Vancouver for the community to enjoy!

Squamish Nation Artist and Language Speaker, Teresa Richard, guided the making of a community mural to honour marine life in the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Snichem (Squamish Language). Photos to come!
