I am a Chinese Canadian woman living in Ch’ích’elxwi7ḵw ~ North Vancouver, British Columbia ~ on the Ancestral Lands of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) who have thrived in reciprocal relationship with these lands since time immemorial. I am committed to critically assessing and re-evaluating the ways in which I walk through this world and on their lands, and to the best of my awareness and ability, taking care not to perpetuate but to dismantle Canada's deep legacy of racism and colonization. I welcome thoughtful, honest and respectful dialogue about how we can do better and be better in the spirit of bringing us closer to true healing and reconciliation for all Indigenous peoples.
